Rope Access Fatality Report Released

The report this week from IRATA regarding a the fatal 2011 incident where a worker fell from the structure into the North Sea demonstrates (among other very important items) the importance of selecting appropriate protection for the type of edge your ropes encounter.  Many types of velcro style wrap around edge protectors WILL NOT protect ropes from cutting over an edge; only from minor abrasion.  A review of your edge protection policies are highly advisable to ensure this type of tragic incident never occurs again.
